The Advanced Guide To Item Upgrade

WoW Upgrades – The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc’s shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item upgrader kit level, however they’ll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item’s next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur’s Gate II there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item upgrader kit level, will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn’t too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It’s also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it’s a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
