More than 56,000 child seats are being recalled because they a child could compromise the harness, increasing the chance of injury. Other recalled items include gas boilers that pose a carbon monoxide hazard.

Here’s a more detailed look:

CHILD SAFETY SEATS

DETAILS: Evenflo Transitions Three-in-One Combination Booster Seats made from Dec. 18, 2014 through Jan. 29, 2016. The recall includes model Numbers 34411686, 34411695 and 34411029.

WHY: The central front adjuster button that loosens the harness may be within a child’s reach. If the harness doesn’t fit snugly, that increases the chance of injury. The problem only affects the seats when they’re used as forward-facing harnessed boosters.

INCIDENTS: No injuries have been reported.

HOW MANY: More than 56,000.

Please do not return the seat to retailers. Evenflo is providing, at no charge, a remedy kit that will virtually eliminate a child’s access and activation of the CFA. The remedy kit includes a replacement bottom seat pad, CFA assembly and https://lows-comsurvey.org/ installation instructions.

PELLET STOVES

DETAILS: Smartstove free standing pellet stoves, with model number 55-SHSSP01 and serial numbers ranging from 101 through 2513. The Smartstove logo appears on the stove’s control panel. The model and serial numbers are located on a black plate on the top right hand corner on the back of the stove. They were sold at Lowe’s and specialty hardware stores nationwide and online at website from September 2015 through December 2015.

WHY: Smoke can build up inside the firebox due to ash accumulation and the glass in the door can break, posing a laceration hazard.

INCIDENTS: Four reports of incidents, including one report of a minor injury.

HOW MANY: About 2,300.

GAS BOILERS

DETAILS: Two models of Vitodens 200-W condensing gas boilers used for residential use. The name “Vitodens” and “Viessmann” are printed on the label on the outside of the boiler box. The product name and model number can be found on the boiler rating plate located on the left side of the white boiler cover. The serial number can be found on a separate label under the boiler cover or on the left hand side of the unit. They were sold by heating and plumbing contractors or wholesalers to consumers nationwide from September 2015 through December 2015. Model number B2HB-45 has serial numbers ranging from 7554703501001105 to 7554703501369106 and model number B2HB-57 has serial numbers ranging from 7554704501001102 to 7554703501411109.

WHY: The boiler can overheat and emit flue gases into the venting system and carbon monoxide can leak throughout the residence, posing a fire and carbon monoxide hazard to consumers.

INCIDENTS: 10 reports where the boilers overheated, causing the boilers to shut down. No injuries have been reported.

HOW MANY: About 165 in the U.S. and 141 in Canada.
